If you’re on the hunt for a truly only-in-Japan souvenir, look no further than Marc Jacobs’s new Tokyo flagship store. It’s the only place in the world where you’ll find the designer’s “AOYAMARCJACOBS” T-shirt, emblazoned with a clever portmanteau that makes a reference to the store’s neighborhood (the quiet, upscale Aoyama). There are other reasons to visit, especially since the award-winning space, by Stephan Jaklitsch Architects, is destined for a spot on the list of the city’s design must-sees. Although the shirt is not Jacobs’s only recent nod to Asia — his spring 2011 collection for Louis Vuitton featured a satin cheongsam — at approximately $75, it’s likely his most affordable.
