Marc Jacobs opens its Tokyo flagship on Saturday. The building itself is the first Marc Jacobs flagship to be built from the ground up, so Stephan Jaklitsch Architects created a multi-level glass and rock building that is ecologically sound and at night is reminiscent of a glowing lantern (snazzy details which snagged them the Award of Excellence from the American Institute of Architects). The opening party was spread over four lavish locations, including an Italian restaurant not yet open to the public, and an afterparty at Tokyo’s primo club, Le Baron de Paris.
